Agent aspirant opportunity — Steve Woodrum's State Farm agency

Georgetown / Frankfort / Lexington, KY · Full-time · Independent contractor track

This is an opportunity within Steve Woodrum's independently operated agency — not a corporate State Farm position. The goal is agency ownership. You'd be working toward running your own business, not becoming a State Farm employee.
I'm looking for someone who wants to own a business — not someone looking for a traditional job. This role is a structured development opportunity inside my agency designed to put the right person on a direct path to becoming an independent contractor agent in Kentucky or anywhere we do business across the country.

You'll work alongside me, build real sales experience, earn your insurance licenses if you don't already have them, and learn what it actually takes to run an agency. If you're already licensed — even better. If you carry securities licenses, we need to talk sooner rather than later.

What the role involves

Developing client relationships and selling auto, home, life, and financial products
Hitting production goals and building a track record that demonstrates you can run your own book
Completing any remaining licensing requirements — costs reimbursed for unlicensed candidates
Learning agency operations — the business side, not just the sales side
Licensing — where you stand matters

Strong advantage — already licensed
Active property & casualty and/or life & health licenses in Kentucky (or a state with reciprocity) means you hit the ground running. We want to hear from you.
Significant differentiator — securities licensed
Series 6, 63, or 65 licenses are a major plus. Candidates with active securities licensing move to the front of the line — this expands what you can offer clients from day one and accelerates the path to an independent agency.
No licenses yet — still worth applying
If you don't have licenses but have the right drive and background, we'll support you through the process. Licensing costs are reimbursed.
Who this is for

People who want to own something — entrepreneurial minded, not job-security minded
Strong communicators and self-starters — sales experience a plus, insurance background not required
Financially stable enough to pursue licensing and eventually make the ownership transition

Who this is not for

Anyone expecting a corporate salary, benefits package, or employee status — this is an independent contractor track
Anyone uncomfortable with performance-based income or the risk that comes with business ownership
Someone looking for a short-term role — this is a multi-year commitment to a career path
State Farm agents are independent contractors. This development role is within Steve Woodrum's agency — not a State Farm corporate position. Agency appointment upon program completion is subject to State Farm's eligibility requirements and is not guaranteed.

Compensation $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
